Commissioned by the City of Sydney for Live Lanes - By George! and presented as part of Art & About 2008.

Role of Greyspace: project curated by Claire Taylor

Scope of project:

• Stage 1 - Preparation of initial concept proposal (including project outline, budget estimates, feasibility research, and concept drawings)
• Stage 2 - Development of proposal, including:
  • Liaison with City Projects regarding consultation with stakeholders such as the RTA, Police, City Rangers;
  • Extensive consultation with artist and production team to develop the parameters for operation and feasibility of specific formations that the “performance” could undertake and locations for these formations;
  • Site visits with the artist and City Projects to review these plans;
  • Preparation of operations plan including detailed program that took into consideration factors such as peak pedestrian movement, when vehicular access is required, when garbage collections are, timing of public performances in concert venues, opening hours of entertainment venues;
  • Provision of impact assessments, risk assessments and a security plan;
• Stage 3 - Implementation:
  • Liaison with production team, artist and City Projects to review program on an as-needed basis;
  • Review of operational guidelines for production team to maintain artistic intent;
  • Regular site visits to motivate production team and get feedback on operations.
